Katie McDermott has been studying, teaching, and performing improvisational comedy since 2011. She’s studied at the DC Improv and Washington Improv Theater in Washington, DC; Dad's Garage and High Wire Improv in Atlanta; and at the OKC Improv in Oklahoma City. She has studied with members of the Upright Citizens Brigade (New York) and The Annoyance Theatre and The Second City (Chicago).

While in Washington, DC, Katie performed regularly and taught long-form improv classes at the Washington Improv Theater. She was one of the founding members of the improvised telenovela team ¡Sábado Picante! and was a member of the Washington Improv Theater Harold team Breaker Breaker.

Katie moved to Lincoln in 2022. She co-founded Lincoln Improv Collective with her friends Chelsea, Morgan, Jeremy, and Vic, and is also a founding member of The Disassociates.
