Frequently Asked Questions

What/Who is Lincoln Improv Collective?

Lincoln Improv Collective was formed in 2023 by some folks who met in Tim Mittan’s short-form improv class at Southeast Community College. We all wanted to continue to study, practice, and share improv with each other and with the community. We have varying levels of experience with teaching and performing short- and long-form improv. We are all volunteers.

What can I expect during an Open Play Session?

Each Open Play session is different, but we usually play some warm up games and then move into fun 2- and 3-person scenework exercises. If there is ever a game or exercise that doesn’t excite you, or that you aren’t interested in, feel free to sit it out! We move around a bit and alternate between sitting and standing. We try to provide bottled water at each session, but we recommend that you bring some water with you.

Do I have to have any improv experience to join your Open Play sessions?

Our Open Play sessions are open to the public regardless of age or level of experience.

Do I need to register for your Open Improv Sessions?

We are not requiring registration at this time. But we do ask, if you plan to attend, that you arrive on time.

Do you offer classes specifically for adults? Specifically for children?

At this time, we do not offer programming that is specifically tailored to different age demographics; however, we would like to eventually put programming like this together. Stay tuned!

Can I hire Lincoln Improv Collective to lead a workshop for me and my colleagues/friends/kids?

Yes! Let’s chat. Just reach out to us via info@improvLNK.org.
